Rebekah and I had previously worked with Sorja during out Wild Weeds Press days, producing her debut memoir Tree With No Leaves.
For Sorja's next book, she wanted a coffee-table style publication that showcased her poetry and paintings created over moments spanning many years. As she says on the backcopy of her book:
"The travails of humankind have never been easy… yet we strive to find love, peace, comfort and joy in moments of our lives.
I am sharing pieces of my mind, heart, and Soul through the physical expression of all that resides in me—in the form of poetry, musings and art."
Sorja suppled her edited poems and artwork, and we put the cover and interior together based on her desired order, layout, and colour schemes. We also helped with marketing and promotions, selling strategies (including Sorja having a table at our annual Festive Book Fair at the KSP Writers' Centre, legal deposit, online distribution and the book launch event.
Sorja was so wonderful to work with, and we are so thankful she trusted us with her beautiful work.

Working with Lara Charles on her memoir Joy, Regardless came about through a skills barter agreement. With Lara's incredible corporate marketing know-how, and our publishing expertise, we were able to not only produce and publish Joy, Regardless but also create a marketing strategy and revamped website for Dragonfly Publishing to focus on what we do best: help authors to publish books that can take flight.
Lara's professionalism and warmth made for a wonderful team collaboration, working well together through all the publishing steps involved.
Lara's gorgeous cover was created by Christa Moffitt of Christabella Designs, and the interior was created by Lisa, our director.
We were so thrilled to be involved with helping such a timely and important book centred around motherhood, cancer, sense of self, and above all else, of being a woman in this day and age. The experiences Lara shares certainly resonated with us.

I loved working with the Dragonfly Publishing team on publishing my book, Joy, Regardless. Lisa’s knowledge of the publishing industry is extensive. She provided valuable insights on book formatting, distribution strategies, legalities, book selling, and she guided me through every stage with professionalism and care.
What truly stayed with me, though, was her kindness. Yes, she has great publishing knowledge and experience, but her warmth and support meant the publishing process was seamless and an absolute joy.
I’m so proud of my book, and I honestly can’t recommend Lisa and the Dragonfly Publishing team highly enough.

We first assisted Cobber with publishing the final book in his "bush verse" series, Gallipoli and Other Bush Verse, in January 2022.
He contacted us again in 2024 wanting to put together a very special book - a collection of his favourite bush verses and short stories, and he had a title: No Regrets! His granddaughter had drawn some wonderful scenes from many of his poems to include in the book, and we knew it had to represent all that he was: bush poet, storyteller, family man, wanderer.
Working collaboratively with Cobber, we proofread the poems and stories, put together the interior in the order he wanted and based on ideas he presented us with, came up with a cover concept centred around one of the drawings his granddaughter provided, and organised the launch, sales options, legal deposit, and some marketing.
Cobber was a an absolute joy to work with, and No Regrets: Cobber's Favourite Bush Poems & Yarns was launched into the world on Saturday 7th September 2024 at the State Library of Western Australia by special guest, Bill Gordon, coordinator of Bush Poetry for the Boyup Brook Country Music Club, and president of the WA Bush Poets & Yarnspinners association.

I’m very happy to recommend Dragonfly Publishing to anyone working towards getting a book into print. Lisa and Bek supported my efforts all the way through, not only with their knowledge and experience, but also with hearts and souls that only lovers of written words can understand.
My sincere thanks go to Dragonfly. It was a wonderful journey, giving me the confidence to continue writing. I hope others will tread the same path.
Keith “Cobber” Lethbridge, author of No Regrets: Cobber's Favourite Bush Poems & Yarns and Gallipoli and Other Bush Verse

A chance meeting with Jan at another book launch led to a fruitful project for us producing The Museum Cat, a wonderful children's picture book about Boo, the cat who lives at the Cunderdin Museum.
Jan created all the illustrations herself, and we had a fabulous time discussing all-things layout, cover, printing and launching with Jan. The Museum Cat launched at the museum on 12th March 2023 to a packed audience of enthralled adults and children alike. And Boo even graced us with his presence for a short time.
We very much look forward to working with Jan again.

I knew when I retired I wanted to write a children’s book, but apart from creating the words and pictures, I had no idea what needed to be done or how to make it all happen.
A chance conversation with Lisa and Rebekah at a book launch filled me with confidence. Lisa gradually walked me through every step with support and encouragement, from choosing page layouts, font colours and sizing, to book styles. Rebekah checked all my written work for errors.
At no point did I feel like I was on a wasted journey. Finally, I had a copy of my book in my hand and what a feeling that was!
I felt so supported from start to finish that I’m about to ask Dragonfly Publishing if we can do it all again. I would highly recommend this small but personal company for any project.

Violeta's submission was one of the earliest to arrive when we opened our submissions for fully contracted books for the very first time. As soon as we read the sample, we knew this was a very special YA book that offered modern writing, relevance to current issues faced by teenage girls, especially migrant girls in Australia and world-wide, and was so raw and engaging we knew it had a place on Australian bookstore shelves.
As an author, Violeta was incredibly open and easy to work with, dedicated to her craft, and willing to go all-in to make her book successful. We worked closely with Violeta with all editing rounds, coming up with the cover concept and design, the interior set-out, the marketing and media strategy, and promotions.
Andrea Nekić is NOT Fine came into the world in April of 2025, and it has topped three Amazon categories for YA fiction, gone through a second print run for Australian distribution, and continues to perform well.
We feel so privileged to have walked this path with Violeta, a great example of author-publisher teamwork.

I'm looking forward to our next project together.

At the launch of another one of our poetry collection books, we had the opportunity to hear Paul perform some of his poems, and we were blown away.
We chatted to Paul during that launch, and he mentioned he had many more poems under his belt, many of them themed around his lived experiences of PTSD, so we asked him to submit some samples to us for consideration.
We loved what he sent, and felt it so relevant and inspiring with regards to the modern day issues faced by many, so offered him a contract.
Paul organised his poems into sections speaking to the various stages of transtioning between breaking, healing, growing and soaring, and with a beautiful cover illustration and thoughtful internal illustrations by Neshka Turner matched to some of the poems, we were able to produce a poetry collection that was poignant, thought-provoking, and representative of Paul's performance style and voice.
Soul Refraction launched online via Zoom on 4th February 2023, with a host of guest performers and to a global audience, a testament to the world-wide name Paul has made for himself.

Dragonfly Publishing didn’t just publish my debut poetry collection, Soul Refraction, they carefully nurtured it as it found its voice in the world.
Lisa and her team took the time to understand the ideas behind my words, offering thoughtful edits that strengthened my manuscript while respecting my voice. The editing and formatting process was both thorough and professional, resulting in a cohesive and beautifully presented book.
When it was time for the book to be released into the world, Dragonfly Publishing’s marketing demonstrated a genuine belief in my work. My launch events were professionally promoted and, as a result, well-attended. They spoke about my book as if it mattered, and that made all the difference and resulted in meaningful opportunities to connect with readers and the poetry community more broadly.
Dragonfly Publishing ensured Soul Refraction was available for purchase both online and in-store, making it easy for readers to discover and purchase a copy no matter where they may be in the world.
Dragonfly Publishing combines professionalism with a passion for books and belief in their authors. They understood that my book was not just another book; it was an act of courage. As an author, I felt supported, heard, and valued at every stage of the publishing process. I’m proud to be a full contact author with Dragonfly Publishing and grateful for the care and expertise they brought to both my work and my book, and I am looking forward to working with them again on my second poetry collection this year!
- Paul R Kohn - author of Soul Refraction and forthcoming release, Soul Song.

The stars truly aligned for this one. Fionna was a previous award-winning writer (for several years!) of the KSP Writers' Centre Spooky Stories competition, so we were already familiar with her "spooky" style.
Fionna submitted Sadie and the Secret of the Swamp, a middle-grade "Goosebumps" style fiction novel to us and we loved it! It was funny, scary, full of twists and turns, and with lots of slime involved! Fionna's writing sang on the page, and even as adults, we really enjoyed what happened when main character Sadie is forced to attend a summer "camp" set in a spooky forest (and yes, "Camp Grenada" was on repeat in our heads).
We enlisted the illustration and proofing skills of Zoe Hoffman, who not only created the cover Fionna was wanting, but ensured the edited manuscript was proofed to perfection.
We drew on Fionna's "Twisted Trails" series to come up with the interior design, ensuring that the spook-factor carried throughout the book.
The October 2024 launch was held at the WA State Library alongside Suzanne Ingelbrecht's second book in the "Tumblagooda Trilogy". Emceed by the amazing Ash Harrier, who organised a host of quizzes and games for the kids, and with goody bags for each child attending, the event was filled with laughter, fun, and lots of banter. Fabulous!
Fionna was an absolute dream to publish, and pushed herself as an author to get her name out there and secure events and author talks to firmly establish her readership. As a dab-hand at book cover and interior design herself, along with amazing social media and website skills, it wasn't long before we convinced her to join our publishing team.

From the first moment I talked to the publishers at Dragonfly, I knew I was in good hands.
The publishing industry can make you feel like a commodity or a number at times, but that's not how you feel at Dragonfly. With a personal touch and collaborative approach, they treated my work with enthusiasm, attention to detail and a passion for the craft.
I have received numerous opportunities through Dragonfly that have introduced me and immersed me into the fabric of the writing community here in Perth.
I couldn't recommend Lisa and the team highly enough.

We've had the priviledge of publishing two of Barbara's books: The House on Redhill Corner (October 2022) and Diary of Lies (July 2024), going through the full publishing process each, and enjoying every moment!
Both launches were fabulous, and Barb is a dab-hand at backing herself, ensuring her name was well-known, and her books always found their readership.
We've built such a wonderful relationship with Barb that she's asked us to republish her other books under her own imprint "BCG Books", so our journey with her is far from over.

Having previously helped Ann re-publish her children's picture book Astara & Erefrey, Goddesses of the Realm, and the Little Blue Planet after she'd had a below par experience with another publisher, we were delighted to hear she was writing a handbook to accompany her healing practice.
She submitted the manuscript to us in May 2023, and we were blown away by the interplay between her own lived experiences and the modalities of healing she came to know and develop from them. It was a no-brainer for us to publish her book By Divine Instruction: Lessons in Metaphysical Healing - A Guided Handbook.
It was our first foray into self-help books, but what we felt set it apart from the vast array already on the market was that each lesson came about from Ann's lived experiences with ill health, what she discovered actually helped with her healing, and she provided clear instruction and examples for how to do it for yourself.
We worked with editor Michelle Smith to firm up Ann's words, then set to work creating a cover and interior representative of the energy, voice and space Ann wanted to convey. Collaboration all the way, resulting in a popular publication that looks and reads as beautifully as the voice and intentions behind it.

I highly recommend Lisa and the Dragonfly Publishing team.
Previously, I had publishing experience I wouldn’t wish upon anyone, and now I’ve had the best publishing experience I’d wish for everyone. With both experiences I can say, ‘Thank God I got a good one this time round.’
Dragonfly Publishing made this book publishing journey effortless and easy. Not only was Lisa professional, but also caring and kind the whole time. I was always being asked for my input and feedback along the way, making sure it was still my baby at the end of it all.
Her choice of editor was a great match because she helped me dig deep in order to write and publish the best version of my book possible. The end result being a far greater book than I could’ve imagined.
With Lisa’s final input, formatting, fine tuning and creating a gorgeous book cover, my book came into life and was shared with the world.
And all I can say is WOW! Totally blown away.
Ann M Basili, author of By Divine Instruction
